Kristi is an attorney associate with Goodsell+Oviatt Law Firm and assists with Medical Malpractice, Personal Injury, Birth Trauma, and Insurance Bad Faith cases. Incorporating her legal research and writing skills, academic achievements and practice experience, she helps clients find a successful resolution to their legal issues.

She obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of South Dakota School of Law. Following law school, she acted as an attorney law clerk for the 4th judicial Circuit, performing extensive legal research and drafting civil, criminal and appellate opinions. She then served as Deputy State’s Attorney for Lawrence County, prosecuting misdemeanor and felony criminal cases. Kristi found her professional calling when she moved into civil law practice in Rapid City, SD. Having successfully represented clients in civil matters for a number of years, Kristi brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in medical malpractice and personal injury matters to the firm.

Prior to joining the firm, Kristi served as Court Administrator for the Seventh Judicial Circuit, where she combined her legal knowledge with administrative skills and managed the administrative functions of the Seventh Circuit Court. Further honing her legal research and writing skills, Kristi also served as Staff Attorney for the Seventh Judicial Circuit, working closely with the judges of the Seventh Judicial Circuit.

In her spare time, she loves hiking in the beautiful Black Hills, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her husband and three daughters.
